The Sherrin Partners team believes strongly that we should make a positive contribution to the disadvantaged in our community. Together we have decided to do this in three ways.
Firstly, and undoubtedly the most rewarding, is our work with a local charity called Footprints. Footprints caters for people with special needs who live by themselves in the local area by giving them access to community leisure activities, a home cooked morning tea and lunch as well as transport to and from the centre.
Each month two of our staff members spend a day at the centre joining ‘clients’ in games and activities. We help serve morning tea and lunch and help clean up afterwards. We purchase and donate useful items for the centre and donate prizes for a raffle. We have received fantastic feedback from the centre staff telling us that the clients look forward to our visits each month. We are truly grateful to be part of such a worthwhile community service.
Secondly, our staff “dress down” for a day each month and make a donation to Mercy Ships, an international organisation providing hospital equipped ships to undertake urgent medical procedures in third world countries.
Thirdly, our partners and families join us each year to fundraise and participate in the MS Moonwalk to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Queensland.
