Testimonials

At Sherrin Partners we pride ourselves on helping our clients during claim time. We help manage the claim from the application process through to receiving the claim payment. Below are some of the many satisfying letters and stories our clients who have had a truama claim have recently written.

Being self- employed I was faced with the immediate forced withdrawal from my business for surgery and then for an extended recuperation period. This of course, for a small business, was very difficult to manage. The Christmas break and the slow January period gave me time to recover somewhat and to find my feet but still major surgery is never easy.  In late 2011 I was fit, well and busy.

A visit to the doctor for a persistent cough when exercising changed all that- a series of tests and specialist visits led to the operating table at Holy Spirit Hospital in Brisbane where I underwent triple bypass surgery for blocked coronary arteries.

For years I had invested in Life and Trauma insurance with One Path Life and never for one second did I think I would actually need it however when that unexpected time did come it made the investment worth every cent.

Both my insurance policy and the trauma claim were handled by Stephanie Woo of Sherrin Partners. The process was sooth, efficient and amazingly quick. From the initial claim enquiry to the actual payment of the claim took only one month. You do not have to be self- employed to invest in Life and Trauma cover, from my experience I think it is an extremely worthwhile investment for anyone and a great way to protect your family.

In November 1988, my small business was not far from its ninth birthday. It was expanding, and it was a busy period. It was also the period where I sat with a man called Tony Stone (Former Sherrin Partners Financial Advisor – retired in 2010). He advised me on a whole range of insurance options that he believed were applicable to my small business and to me and my family (also growing rapidly).
I may know the jargon of my industry, Information Technology - for me though, the jargon of the Insurance/Financial industry seems like something that would not have been out of place in the chat between Alice and the Mad Hatter at his famous Tea Party.
Tony is a straight talker. More importantly, he ensures that “talk” is actually communication. He explained the insurance products to me in terms I could understand and that I could make an informed decision on. We shook hands, and the deal was in place .......I guess there were some papers and signatures involved as well, but with a man like Tony the hand shake seemed just as important.
Early January 2000, papers signed in November 1988 are only a vague memory and regular monthly payments have become part of the general accounting flow.
What had not drifted into ubiquity was Tony and that hand shake. It was clearly remembered and reinforced when I was told by my doctors that I faced major surgery with “a one in ten chance of going critical on the table”. After a short period of letting that settle into my “superman” psyche, I started to think of practical matters like the business, kids school fees, and cash flow. There was a lot on my mind.
I called Tony, and I told him what was happening and about to happen. I would like to think that I remember verbatim what Tony said, but the reality was that I began to relax as he spoke and his words sunk in.
“Yes, the policies you set up in 1988 were designed to cover just this sort of situation. You give my name and number to your eldest daughter and tell her who I am. You give me her phone number. I will ensure that every aspect of what your policy provides will happen as and when it should.....and your daughter will be advised at every step along the way. More importantly, you focus on the job in front of you in the next few weeks. Your daughter and I have everything else under control.”
Tony’s 1988 handshake and his words of 2000 played out according to script during the following weeks/months. I went on my unplanned medical “vacation”, and the world did not stop after all. Tony was never more than a phone call away whenever my daughter or I needed his advice or assistance. I will also add that Tony was still the ‘straight talker’....thanks for that.

At Sherrin Partners not only do we look at financial goals but we incorporate personal objectives into long term planning. Below is a letter from one of our clients who sought our help.
During the GFC of 2008, both myself and my spouse came to realise that we needed to give some serious thought as to how we were going to survive this crises. This included the need to set up a financial plan for our retirement together without compromising our living and lifestyle expectations to which we have become accustomed.
To achieve this, we needed to find a professional financial advisor who was capable of giving us a personal Statement of Advice and recommendations based on our investment risk profile and our short and long term financial goals. Jason Kirk of Sherrin Partners Financial Advisors fitted this role perfectly.
The advice Jason provided was first class. It included rearranging our financial portfolios into an income stream which will support us both for the next 15 -20 years. This income stream will enable us to acieve our goals including spending quality time with our grandchildren and close friends, home renovations and the occasional overseas holidays.
We have been more than impressed with the professional, personal and financial advice Sherrin Partners have provided which has enabled us to enjoy an early retirement confident that we have a solid plan in place for the future.
If you are thinking about your retirement years, I highly recommend taking some time to talk with Jason Kirk of Sherrin Partners about what they can do for you. This includes maximizing your income during any upturns/downturns in the financial markets.

Our clients at Sherrin Partners appreciate the plans that we provide as they can be easily incorporated into everyday life.
We were referred to Jason Kirk in 2007 and have been very happy with the sound advice he has provided to both of us to date.
Jason Kirk has given us very workable plans for our transition to retirement. We find Jason very personable and would not hesitate in recommending him to our friends.
